Hello Trail Life Families!
Summer is coming to a close, and school is just around the corner for many of our Trailmen….and that means one thing— Our season is about to begin! Our first meeting is scheduled for NEXT WEEK— Tuesday August 20th @ 6:15pm. Our first meeting of the season will be all about getting all of our Trailmen registered (and confirming that you’re registered), getting required Medical Release Forms….and of course, Rocketry. Our very own Rocket Man Mr. Szabo will be assisting our boys with their building of Air Powered Rockets, and they will be flying them in our parking lot.

Our registration is now open for the 2019-20 Season— and we’d love to have you register today. Our troop fees for this season have increased modestly to $115 per Trailman (with discounts for multiple child families), and covers the costs of meeting supplies, Troop related TLUSA fees, and all awards earned at our awards ceremonies. We’ve got an exciting schedule laid out for our season, including a few High Adventure Backpacking trips, a Fire Helicopter tour and demonstration, and an overnight camp on the USS Midway Aircraft Carrier! It’s sure to be a fun season…and we can’t wait to get started! (Full troop calendar will be updated and posted shortly!)
Navigators and Adventurers
While our Navigator and Adventurers will participate in the Rocketry, we will first have a troop orientation and meeting for all of our promoting Navigators and Adventurers to discuss the program, and get you some valuable information. Parents— please be in attendance so you can learn more about the requirements of the program, and what your Trailman will need to succeed in the program. As announced last season, we will also be having our mandatory Leadership Academy for our Navigators and Adventurers on Saturday August 24th from 2-6pm. (The academy is free of charge) This is a ONCE A YEAR leadership training seminar offered to our up-and-coming troop leaders— and attendance is required for boys to hold leadership positions within the troop.
Uniform Swap / Sale
Each season as Trailman promote (and grow larger!) we have families looking to buy, sell or swap their uniforms....so at our first meeting, please bring any old uniforms you'd like to donate or sell. While our troop won't have any uniforms for 'sale'— we will facilitate the Uniform swap at our first meeting. Bring cash for any transactions. (we're looking for someone to help coordinate this at our event— so if you're interested, please reply to the troop email: TROOP at tlsv.org
