School is back in session, and that means one thing— Our new season is about to Blast off! Below are three important dates to remind you about as we kick off the season, and a link to Sign up for our 2025/26 Season.
- Dad’s Meeting (with our Youth Officers Conference Invited) this Sunday, August 17th @ 6pm
- Registration Open for the season— and our first Troop Meeting -Next Tuesday August 19th!
- Navigator/ Adventurer Leadership Academy - Saturday, August 23rd

1) Dad’s Meeting to Schedule our Season. (With Officers conference included)
Calling all dads! We need you this season as we look ahead at all the events and details for our season. We will be meeting this Sunday evening at 6pm at NewHeart Church in Room 1. While our meeting schedule is unchanged (1st and 3rd Tuesdays), all of our Hit the Trails, and Camping Trips need to be finalized— and we’d love to have your input. In previous seasons we have had our Youth Leaders (known as the Officers Conference) meet separately to brain storm their ideas, and then have our dad’s gather together — we’ve decided to invite our Youth Officers to join our Dad’s meeting.
During our Dad’s meeting we will be looking at the calendar dates, choosing locations for campouts (with alternates) and assigning a “Point Man” to run point at the our events— please bring your calendar and some ideas to share as we seek to make the 2025/26 season the best one yet! (For those who like to plan, we will be posting a full season calendar after selecting our locations, so you can add the dates to your family calendars!)
2) Registration is now open for the 2025/26 season— First Troop Meeting - TUESDAY!
Our New season about to Launch, we are now open for registering with the Local Troop for the 2025/26 Season. With support from NewHeart, we are able to keep the Local troop fee to just $40 (and $35 for each additional son from the same family), and registration is now open on the troop site (Register here now!»)
Our first troop meeting will be on Tuesday August 19th @ 6:15pm. Even if you are not signed up as part of the troop, you are invited to come and learn more about the troop and enjoy the first meeting festivities. In addition to the fun activities for hte boys, we will have a parent meeting to overview our Troop, Trail Life USA programs, and answer any questions youve got about our program— for new or returning families with questions— this is a great time to learn about the Trail Life Program, and our Simi Valley Troop.
3) Leadership Academy is Next Weekend
For our Incoming or returning Navigators and Adventurers, we spend some time on intentional Leadership Development each season at leadership academy. As we previously announced, this season’s Leadership Academy will be held on Saturday August 23rd from 1-4pm @ NewHeart Church. This is a mandatory meeting for our Trailmen, so please reach out to Mr. Fox if your son is unable to attend for some reason.
4) Awards available now...
Last but not least…if you purchased awards at our end of season ceremony, they are available for pickup at our Kick off meeting (and for those who ordered who are not returning this season, please reach out and we can get your ordered awards).
We will have plenty more to discuss as the season Kicks off, and we are excited for another fun year at Trail Life. This program is only as good as the dads who help us make this program come to life, and the awesome Troop moms that support us all season long— so a big thank you (in advance) for another awesome season!
