In this message we will provide information for the next two Hit The Trail events...ice skating on Sunday January 23rd, and a tour of the US Navy Seabee museum on Saturday February 5th.
Ice Skating Hit the Trail this Sunday - Jan 23rd
The next Hit the Trail will be this Sunday on January 23. We are going to Iceoplex, an ice skating rink in Simi Valley. The rink is available from 2-4 pm that day, so Trailmen can come and go within that time. Trailmen and their family members of all ages and skill levels are welcome, and the rink has equipment there to help inexperienced skaters. The price of entry is $17 per person, which can be paid at the front desk. You can also rent skating gear for no additional cost. I recommend bringing warm clothes, since the ice rink will be cold. US Navy Seabee Museum Tour (Feb 5)
For our Hit The Trail scheduled for Saturday February 5th we have a scheduled guided tour of the US Navy Seabee Museum at the Port Hueneme Naval Base. This event will be open to Trailmen and immediate family members. This is a free event but please sign up (here) so we know how many to expect in advance. Our scheduled tour will be from 1:30pm to approximately 3:00pm. Please gather outside the museum starting at 1:15pm so we may begin our tour on time. Masks are required indoors regardless of vaccination status and no food or drink is permitted indoors with the exception of closed water containers. If you have any questions about this event myself and Adventurer Advisor Mark Williams are your point men. Trailmen and adult leaders, please wear your uniform so we can get a group photo and represent Trail Life USA. We will be on a military installation so take extra care to ensure your uniform looks sharp.
