Trail Life Families,

With our last official troop meeting of the year already a wrap, that means we have just one more meeting of the troop season— our Annual Spring Awards Ceremony. We are meeting this Tuesday evening at 6:15pm to celebrate the achievements of our many hard working Trailmen over the course of this new season. Additionally we will be honoring and celebrating our very first Freedom Rangeman at our ceremony— which is the Highest award in Trail Life. (See more details about our Freedom Award below)

Our Ceremony

Our awards ceremony will begin at 6:15pm, with our Trailmen and their families inside the worship center at our meeting location (NewHeart Church). We will be acknowledging and celebrating the awards of ALL of our Trailmen, from Foxes through Adventurers, with a few video recaps of our Troop Events for the season. This is an ALL FAMILY EVENT— and we’d love to have siblings, moms, grandparents and others to be part of this awards ceremony. After our ceremony, we will have a pot-luck Dessert time outside on the patio— feel free to bring a dessert to share, or just stick around as we continue our celebration.

The Freedom Award

The Freedom Award is the highest award in Trail Life USA. It is an achievement accomplished by the few who reach the apex of the Trail Life Program. Earning the award requires a demonstrated mastery of a significant skill set including 15 required and 10 elective Trail Badges, performing 20 hours of servant service each year, and the distinction of having proven himself as a leader among his peers. He must also complete four "Freedom Experiences" in 3 separate chosen fields; complete a Faith Building Activity; budget, plan, and lead a volunteer team to complete a Servant Leadership Project; and complete an advancement conference and formal Freedom Board of Review.

We've had a fantastic troop season with plenty of fun, action filled Hit the Trails and camps (in addition to our meetings)...and we have lots of awards to celebrate this season. (As a note— if you didn’t order awards already, that’s no problem at all— we will have awards order forms available for a group order for any awards you’d like to order. While we will be recognizing what awards your Trailmen has earned, purchase of physical awards is optional and up to the parents).

We look forward to seeing you all this Tuesday night! Let’s Walk Worthy!
